"Wonderful Oceanfront Villa & Exceptional Service - Our family has rented at this location many times and it is always fantastic. The view is wonderful, the location is perfect, and the Villa is perfect for a couple!! The amenities are wonderful and they always ensure you have things you would be likely to forget!! "

"Such a relaxing and awesome location...the condo is very well appointed, modern, clean and right on the beach...didn't feel the need to go out every night in search of a new restaurant as the grocery store at Freshfields Village provides you with everything you need and the condo is a home away from home. Our three year old loved it...beautiful clean, safe beach that we explored throughout the day and chased crabs at night...he had a blast! If you are looking to escape the head long rush of the corporate day to day, this is the place...Shawn and Jeanette have got it just right...they think of everything, give you a steer in the right direction, should you need it, but leave you be otherwise...perfect."

"The Escape villa is by far one of the best villas on Kiawah Island. Everything is so well thought out and the owners really spared no expense in regards to the interior details down to the towels and sheets. You simply can not get any better than this, and the best part is how easy it is to work with the management company on a reservation or equipment rentals!"

"We enjoyed such a fantastic 2 weeks on Kiawah!! The weather was not always super terrific, but the accommodations of 'The Escape' and all of the extra amenities that Shawn and Jeanette provide made for a very comfortable, relaxing vacation!! The 'heavenly bed' is just that!! Your body just molds into it!! The beach at Kiawah is super fantastic!! Plenty of hard sand walking space even at high tide!! The Market Place operated by Harris Teeter is a great place to get anything you want for dinners in!! If you are a biker, the bike paths are superb-- or just a walker/jogger plenty of areas for that. We are not golfers but have heard the courses are excellent!! Shawn and Jeanette from Kiawah Getaways are very friendly and accommodating and they maintain their units beautifully!! We had a wonderful 2 weeks with some fun trips to Charleston (an easy 30 minutes away) included!! Highly recommend all!!"

"The Escape was the perfect condo for our recent stay on Kiawah Island! We recently took our 8 month old and found the condo to be perfectly equipped for our trip. No detail has been forgotten in this meticulous condo, every comfort we needed was at our fingertips!!! Seconds from the beach - amazing view of the ocean from both the bedroom & living room. Perfection - we highly recommend this condo (and we are hard to please travelers)."

"My husband and I just spent a wonderful week in Kiawah at this beautiful villa. We've been going to Kiawah for over 20 years and this is one of the nicest and easiest rentals we've ever experienced. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary so it was perfect for just the two of us. Beautfully decorated, all the neccessities (2 baths certainly didn't hurt) totally spotless and so close to the beach with a view of the ocean from the living room and master bedroom. What more could one want? Not sure when we'll get back to Kiawah, just the two of us, but when we're able to.... we'll definitely check out staying at this villa again!!"

"The location of the Escape was perfect for our stay on Kiawah Island. We could see the surf from our window and hear and see it from our balcony/porch, just as the photos revealed. The Escape was lighted, fragrant, spotlessly clean, and welcoming when we arrived at dusk. When booking, I spoke with Shawn who answered all my questions completely. My sister and I needed a break from sorting, cleaning, and probate appointments because our Mother passed away in January and our Daddy died in February. We were just overwhelmed with fatigue and grief, so the Escape was perfect for us. Thank you so very much for this wonderful beach experience. It was quiet, peaceful and refreshing for us. We would definitely recommend Chez Fish for fresh Seafood to eat in or take out. In Charleston we especially liked the southern seafood at Charleston Crab House. Shopping at the Tanger Outlet east of Charleston was therapeutic! Thank you Jeanette and Shawn for the Escape! We will definitely come again and recommend you to our friends and relatives!"

"Wow! What a fabulous vacation, and it was mostly thanks to a wonderful stay at the "Escape at Windswept". (1) Rental process went smoothly, the property managers are extremely organized and timely. Answered all questions we had prior to arrival. (2) Property was more impressive in person than in the photos! Spotlessly cleaned, kitchen well supplied, comfortable bed, and second bathroom was a nice bonus (especially since it had a bathtub for the little one). All extra equipment we rented was waiting for us on our arrival, and was in excellent condition. Appreciated having plenty of bath and beach towels. (3) Perfect location for golfing, biking, and hitting the beach. We were impressed with the ocean views from both the balcony and the master bedroom. (4) Size of this condo was perfect for my husband, our infant, and myself. Might be a little crowded if more than one child or sharing with another couple. (5) I would definitely recommend this property and Kiawah Island Getaways to others. Have rented from several owners on VRBO, and this one is top notch. Only thing that was a little bit disappointing was not having access to the pool at Heron park; looks like lots of fun for kids. We will definitely return someday!"
April 2012 Guest Comment about the "Escape at Windswept"
"I can't say enough about the Escape. The condo was beautifully decorated and comfortable - no outdated patterns, mismatched beachy furniture, or polyester bedspreads here. (Actually toyed with the idea of contacting the owner to find out their decorator's contact info!) The kitchen was a foodie's dream - from the amazing pans to the quality cutlery. And we loved being able to cook at "home" vs. having to eat out all the time. The views were lovely - nothing like waking up and watching the ocean straight from your bed! We could easily get to the beach (best sand I've ever seen), restaurants at The Sanctuary, bike paths, Night Heron Park, and more. Although I've read reviews that disagree with the approach, I LOVED having a washer and dryer on site. Less to pack and I could do my laundry before heading home! :) The owners took great care to provide us with good information of things to do on the island, as well as in nearby Charleston. We didn't head into Charleston, but I noted some of the information in the booklet being out of date. Didn't bother us, but I thought it might affect someone else. Ultimately, just a quick call before heading into the city would solve that. Before starting our vacation, I wished a shorter stay been available. But when we got down to it, having to stay an extra night in paradise wasn't such a bad thing after all. :) Would definitely select the Escape again if we had it to do over. A wonderful 10th anniversary made better by a wonderful place to stay."

"I enjoyed my stay at Kiawah. Your villa was excellent in all aspects. It was clean, cozy, comfortable and made me feel as if it was my own. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we will surely return at one of your villas. No expense was spared at making us feel welcomed. God bless you and your family."

"Everything, really everything, was beyond perfect.. Paperwork, registration, check-in great. View towards ocean indescribable. Decor from Pottery Barn (and we really like them). Will definitely go back. Anniversary (47th) meal in Ocean Room at The Santuary will always be a most pleasant memory. "
December 2011 Guest Comment about the "Escape at Windswept"
"Excellent time of the year for a visit. We were the only occupants in our building and there was no one in the adjacient ones either. Except for one day the weather was ideal (low to mid 60s) which made for enjoyable biking or beach walking activities. The villa was perfect for us - very relaxing and had all the amenities we could of asked for. Furniture was updated and very comfortable and the free wifi was easy to use. Carve out time to spend just on the island for either beach walking or bike riding on the 30 miles of trails. Two attractions near the island are the American Tea Plantation and the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens; both are must sees and well worth the drive. If planning to sightsee in Charleston, you need to plan for several days to get it all in and make them a total day trip. It takes a good 45 minutes to reach downtown, so you don't want to be driving to and from the island more than once. We had three full days to tour the area and it wasn't enough time to see everything and enjoy Kiawah. We will definitely plan another trip to Charleston and will make Kiawah our overnight destination. Shawn and Jeanette provide everything we asked for and more. This was a very relaxing 30th anniversary vacation and my wife and I couldn't have asked for better. 5 thumbs up!!!"
